Our Story

Born from experience. Built with purpose. More than a backpack.

TailTug wasn't born in a boardroom. It was forged on the streets during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

My name is Brook. A few years ago, in my 40s, I lost both of my parents, my home, and everything familiar. In that incredibly dark period, just getting through the day felt impossible. What carried me through was skateboarding. It wasn't about tricks; it was a lifeline. Skating late at night gave me structure when everything else fell apart. It kept me moving. In a very real way, it saved my life.

"Skateboarding gave me structure when everything else fell apart. In a very real way, it saved my life."

During those rides, I kept thinking about the gear I was using—and what was missing. I wanted a backpack that felt grown, streamlined, and intentional. Something built for adult skaters who commute, work, create, and carry responsibility. Not loud or adolescent, but clean, functional, and designed for real life.

That idea became TailTug.

TailTug is a modern, urban skateboard backpack designed for skaters in their 20s through 50s. It bridges skate culture and everyday life with secure skateboard carry, laptop storage, and thoughtful compartments. But more than a backpack, it's a reflection of resilience and the belief that skateboarding isn't something you outgrow—it's something that grows with you.

Our Mission

To give back to the community that gave me my life.
TailTug exists to support skaters not just in how they move — but in how they heal.
Skateboarding has long been a refuge for people navigating mental health challenges,
addiction, loss, and recovery. I know that firsthand. That’s why TailTug is committed to
reinvesting directly into that community.
Our mission is simple:
● Build high-quality, purpose-driven gear for real skaters
● Support mental health, recovery, and second chances
● Create a brand rooted in integrity, function, and impact
TailTug isn’t about hype. It’s about movement — forward motion, healing, and showing up for
yourself and others.
